I am SOOO excited to share my newest beauty editorial, “The Gold Rush” that I shot for PAF MAGAZINE.
My inspiration behind this story was a surreal metallic women with a gold face. She appears almost angelic and statuesc to me. I’m so enthralled with my team of hair, makeup and model on this editorial. They really brought the vision to life here! Eve’s gold painted face is so surreal! And to think this was one of Eve’s first modeling shoots ever!
I had the opportunity to borrow the larger than life paper handcrafted rose flowers by Tana at Bohemian Bloom. She hand makes these beauties! She even let me spray paint them with metallic spray paint! I think they really add to the surrealism of the images.
Just one beauty dish from up at an angle was used in my light setup here. I wanted basic and contrasty light to highlight the makeup.
Hope you all enjoy this beauty story as much as I did shooting it! You can see how much fun my team had here behind the scenes ;-)

For these images I photographed my model, Brenda in front of a large window. I used natural light because it allows me to manipulate the highlights and shadows in my images in photoshop easier. I placed 2 large 4 x 8 black V Flats on each side of her to narrow the light down and create shadows on the sides of her face. I also used a silver reflector under her chin to create contrasty light.

My new beauty editorial, ‘Echo Location” released in Tantalum magazine Beauty issue 25!
For this 3D effect, I used a channel splitting technique in photoshop. I did a lot of experimenting with it and had a lot of fun creating cool effects with the makeup. Hope you enjoy!
